When is a Final Map Permit Required?
When subdividing land and for the establishment of condominiums or residential housing. The Subdivision Map Act is contained in Section 66410 and Section 66499.58 of the Government Code. To access the Government Code, please click here.
How do I get a Final Map?
Please submit a completed Final Map Application included in the Final Map Handout (PDF), which also contains a detailed list of all other actions and documents required for initial submittal to the Engineering Division. As with all other permits issued by the Engineering Division, authorization from the Planning Division is required before the Engineering Division can accept any permit submittal (as indicated on the permit application). The Planning Division is located at the public counter adjacent to the Engineering Division.

What other documents do I need?
Besides the items identified in the Final Map Permit Handout (PDF), no other documents are required. Your permit technician will assist you through the requirements and answer any questions you may have regarding the process.
Each submittal required for permit issuance will be plan checked and returned within 10 business days. Be sure all required items are submitted to avoid delay.
