RECREATION MAKES LIFE BETTER

The City of Dana Point Recreation Division is committed to providing quality recreation and leisure activities to the community.  For further information, or if you have questions, please contact the City’s Recreation Division at (949) 248-3536 or by email at recreation@danapoint.org.

The City of Dana Point uses contract class instructors to teach a wide variety of programs for the Recreation Division. Currently, the Recreation Division is not actively seeking new instructors. All applications received will be kept on file until programming space becomes available. 

Participant Code of Conduct

All participants and spectators are expected to exhibit appropriate behavior while attending any program or activity conducted or sponsored by the City of Dana Point Recreation Division. The following conduct requirements are designed to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for all activity/event participants and spectators.

  1. Be respectful towards all participants, spectators, and program staff. 
  2. Be respectful of City facilities and City property
  3. Refrain from any abusive, defamatory, or foul language.
  4. Refrain from causing bodily harm to self, other participants, spectators, or program staff.
  5. Verbal or physical threats will not be tolerated.
  6. Follow non-smoking policies, City ordinances, and municipal codes.
  7. Maintain an acceptable standard of personal hygiene and appropriate attire.
  8. Participants who are under the influence of illegal drugs or intoxicated are prohibited from participating.
  9. Any concerns involving program staff or City employees should be addressed through the City’s Recreation Manager.

Failure to follow these conduct requirements may result in denial of program participation privileges. The City of Dana Point is dedicated to maintaining a safe, healthy atmosphere in which to live, work and play.

GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Customers are not permitted to submit registration forms or sign waivers for anyone else, except themselves or their child(ren).
  • Activities are subject to cancellation or schedule change.
  • If an activity is full, we will return your payment and place you on a waitlist.
  • All refunds must be requested in writing. A $10 processing fee will be applied to all check refunds. When courses are cancelled by the City, a full refund will be issued. Non-attendance in a program is not grounds for a refund. The City of Dana Point assumes no responsibility for the reimbursement/refund of any material fee collected by an instructor.
  • Class Refund: All refund requests must be received before the start of the second-class meeting. No refunds or credits will be issued after the second-class meeting.
  • Camp Refund: All refund requests must be received 72 hours before the start of the camp. No refunds or credits will be issued if the request is received less than 72 hours before the camp.
  • No refunds will be issued after the activity has ended.
