Doheny Village Plan - Community Open House
On August 13 from 5PM – 7PM at Capo Beach Church, the City of Dana Point is holding a community
open house for all those interested in the progress of the Doheny Village Plan.
The City has engaged the firm of Opticos Design, Inc. to assist in finalizing the land use plan and
developing a new zoning code to guide future development in the area. The open house is intended to
introduce Opticos to the community, provide an introduction to the type of zoning code intended for the
area (form based code), and identify the next stages leading toward completion of the Plan.
The City and Opticos will return September 8th-12th for an intensive 4-1/2 day design charrette.
Community members and interested stakeholders will be encouraged to attend the open design studio
to review the work being done by Opticos and provide valuable feedback. The effort concludes with
Opticos sharing their planning work that will lead to the actual creation of the new code on Saturday
September 12th at 10:00AM.

buildings and properties to provide for a walking village environment. They blend the best from the past

aesthetically pleasing results.”
