"Into the Woods" is the re-imagining of the fairy tale story of the Baker and his Wife.  They desperately want a child, but have been cursed with childlessness by a witch.  To break the spell, they must bring the witch a cow as white as milk, a cape as red as blood, hair as yellow as corn, and a slipper as pure as gold.  These missions lead the Baker and his Wife to some of the other fairy tale characters in order to accomplish the tasks.  When the requirements are finally met, there are still lessons to be learned about the pitfalls of greed and gluttony, and, ultimately, about the need for community and family.
