The Festival of Whales Parade kicks off the annual Festival of Whales Event which occurs the first two weekends in March and offers a variety of activities. The parade begins promptly at 10:00 a.m. with a route along Pacific Coast Highway south from Selva Road to Golden Lantern in Dana Point. Parade entrants are encouraged to embrace the Festival's theme of "40 Years of Magical Migration" when designing parade floats and costumes. Awards will be given to the Best Display of Parade Theme, Best Musical Unit, Best Youth Group, Best Group Spirit and Best Local Entry. Parade entry applications are currently being accepted.
