Science Night; An Introduction to Tidepooling with Suzanne Welsh

SCIENCE NIGHT

Keep exploring and learning at our Science Night events! Every 2nd Wednesday (except December) scientists, naturalists, and esteemed experts explore a range of topics regarding natural sciences and our environment.

Join us for an interactive and hands-on presentation: “An Introduction to Tidepooling: The Basics of Exploring our Marine Protected Areas”. Bringing a collection of intertidal specimen with various bones, shells, and artifacts, Ms. Welsh will be sharing what incredible life can be found along our shores. Real examples for individuals to touch, feel, and inspect will help explain tidepool ecology and how to responsibly enjoy our precious Marine Protected Areas.

Suzanne Welsh is a tidepool educator with 10 years of experience leading education programs and engaging the public through outreach throughout Orange County’s Marine Protected Areas.  She is currently the Docent Coordinator for Laguna Ocean Foundation, where she provides education to the public about intertidal ecology in addition to training and managing the volunteer tidepool educators found throughout Laguna Beach.
