This month's Science Night is titled, “The Wonderful Life of a Drying Tree", Presented by Gillian Martin of the Cavity Conservation Initiative.
Every tree dies eventually, but its ecological value continues long after the last leaf falls. Discover a tree’s secret second life and its habitat value to many species of birds and other animals as it decays.
Gillian Martin is the founder and director of the Cavity Conservation Initiative, a non-profit organization in Southern California whose mission is to protect habitat for cavity-nesting birds. She is a naturalist, environmental activist and author of numerous publications on this topic. View the event flyer for more information.
