A Walk through History

This walk focuses on local Dana Point History. It is designed to introduce participants to the several different main historical periods (ie, Acjachemen, Spanish Mission, Rancho, and Modern Era).  In more detail, participants will learn about the “Woodruff” Era of the 1920’s and 30’s, the surfing heritage, and the harbor construction. Stories of the past will link the participants to the history of some of the local buildings, structures, and areas as well!

This history walk occurs on the third Saturday of each month. The walk begins at the Nature Interpretive Center (34558 Scenic Drive, Dana Point, CA 92629) at 9 AM and is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours long, covering about 1.5 miles.

Please RSVP to DPNaturalResources@danapoint.org or (949) 248-3527

Trails are open 7AM to Sunset daily

Nature Interpretive Center hours: Tuesday-Sunday 10AM to 4PM
