AlertOC Test

Annual test of emergency notification system

  • Date: 10/14/2013
  • Location: Dana Point
    California
  • Introduction:

On Monday, October 14, the AlertOC notification system will be tested in Dana Point. Every landline telephone (AT&T and Cox Cable) will be called as part of this important test of our emergency messaging capability. Phone numbers, email addresses, and text message addresses that have been voluntarily registered with our system will also be included in this test.

Registering your contact information in AlertOC allows the City of Dana Point to send emergency messages to you in the ways most likely to reach you. If you live in Dana Point (especially if you do not have a traditional landline telephone), work here, or visit regularly, registering your phone number, email address, and text messaging address allow us to send you important information in an emergency.

More information regarding AlertOC, including how to register your contact information to receive emergency messages, can be found at www.danapoint.org/alertoc.

The AlertOC test message will include a reminder about the upcoming annual test of the Community Alert Siren System, scheduled for Wednesday, October 16. More information about the test of the siren system can be found at www.danapoint.org/siren.

The cities of San Clemente and San Juan Capistrano will also be testing AlertOC in their cities on the same day. If you have registered your phone number or email address in multiple cities, you may receive several AlertOC messages.

For more information on this test, please visit our AlertOC page, email jkirchner@danapoint.org, or call 949-248-3579.
