The days starts with a great surf contest between the Doheny Longboarders surfing against another California longboard club. It's a great contest (and they always have the best event t-shirts). When the contest ends around 3 PM, everyone heads to Picnic Areas A and B for the luau with amazing food, awards, and dancing. Viewing the contest is free, but there is a charge if you wish to join the luau.
