Quarterly Siren Test in Dana Point
Friday, July 12
Monday, July 15
Tuesday, July 16
Wednesday, July 17
(Weather Permitting)
Four times a year, each of the sirens is activated individually for a few seconds. The quarterly test is completed in each city on a different day, so this short test may be heard in one location for several days. During this quarterly test, each siren will be tested twice.
Remember - This is only a test. You do not need to take action. Please do not call 911 unless you have a life-threatening emergency.
In a real emergency, the sirens may be activated by local government officials and have only one meaning: there is important emergency information available - turn on your television or radio. Community Alert Sirens may be used to alert you to information for a wide variety of emergencies, including tsunamis, earthquakes, and events related to the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station.
