It's almost time for the annual DPHS Scholarship BBQ and we hope to see all of you there plus your friends and neighbors. It's very important that we raise enough money to fund our two $1,000 awards for outstanding high school graduates, Christine Nowland and Lauren Rodgers. The scholarships will go towards their college expenses. Here are the details, as previously published in the latest Drogher newsletter: Date/Time: Monday, June 28. Social at 6:00pm, BBQ served at 6:30pm Place: Doheny State Beach, Picnic area "A". (25300 Dana Harbor Drive, Dana Point 92629) Cost: $15 per person by June 25th (send in your newsletter form or call (949) 248-8121) Program: The restorers of two sailing ships will tell us about their 1920's schooners - Robert Harrison's "Curlew" and Rick Brown's "Charmian" which are both moored in the DP harbor. Menu: Delicious Tri-tip, Chicken, BBQ beans, and Cole Slaw. Water and soft drinks included, beer and wine available. Entertainment: Live surf music will be performed by the Diamondhead Duo. Parking/Park entrance: The fee has been taken care of. Just tell the guard that you are attending the Historical Society event. Reservations: Send the form in the June Newsletter asap or call (949) 248-8121. It's important that the DPHS has a headcount for food planning purposes.
